Glendale residents gathered at Fred Haller Way for a special tree-lighting ceremony December 18 sponsored by the Glendale Civic Association toboggan gonflable and Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley. Turnout was solid. The refreshments hit the spot, but the best part of all? Christmas carols sung by area kids. The tree looked pretty good, too. Happy Holidays!

Krieger’s Christmas Village is a sight to behold
What would the holiday season be without the Krieger’s Christmas Village? In the late 1990’s Charlie and Ann Krieger decided to build a Christmas-themed display in front of their home in Glendale. The idea was a smash hit. It’s grown ever year since.
This year, the 12th annual Christmas Village is bigger and brighter than ever before, stretching into the Krieger’s garage and backyard. It features Santa figures galore, festive lighting, model towns, trains and so much more. The village is truly a sight to behold. It attracts inflatable water park visitors not only from Glendale but from all over the city.
The display will be up and running through early January. Charlie Krieger asks that visitors call in advance to set a viewing time. He can be reached at (718) 456-8169.
