Glendale Streets To Get Water Main Construction Beginning October 14.

Work expected to last four months

For what the NYC Department of Design & Construction calls ‘for new building construction and for improvement to the City’s water main distribution system and fire protection,’ a dozen streets in the Myrtle Avenue / Union Turnpike section of Glendale will be torn up in order to put new water mains in. Work will start October 14th and will go on for four months. Expect some traffic inflatable water slide disruption and lane detours while this work is being done.

The contractor is DeBoe Construction Company in Huntington, NY.

The streets include: 77 Avenue at 88 St., Myrtle Avenue between 81Ave. and 84 St., 85 St. between 77th Ave. and Myrtle, 86th and 87th Streets between 77 Ave. and Union Tpk. 78 Avenue between 84 and 88 St., 79 Ave. from 87 to 88 St., 84 St. between 77 and 78 Aves., Union Turnpike – both sides, from Myrtle to 88 St. The last of the work will include a new water main on Myrtle Avenue between Union Turnpike and 85 Street.
