Glendale man killed in LIC car crash

A 53-year-old Glendale man was killed when his car was struck by a box truck in Long Island City on Monday.

Police confirmed that Bruce Lanzer, of 76th street in Glendale, was traveling southbound on 37th Street when his four-door sedan collided with a box truck traveling westbound on Review Avenue. The report says Lanzer failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection before colliding with the box truck.

When police arrived at the scene they observed Lanzer with trauma to his body. He was taken to nearby Elmhurst Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The operator of the truck remained at the scene. At press time, there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
