Glendale man among those busted in child sex sting operation

predators_introFormer “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen made a return by assisting in the arrests of 10 child predators, including a Glendale man, after a four-day Connecticut child sex sting operation.

The men, hailing from Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut, exchanged online messages with Hansen and the Fairfield police under the impression that they were actually speaking to either a 13-year-old boy or a 12-year-old girl. Joshua R. Colon, 32, from Glendale was one of those caught.

Fairfield police placed the suspects under surveillance from the time that they entered town to the time they entered the home hoping to have sex with either child.

“I’ll leave you up to the imagination as to what those inflatable water slide items may have been, but they were certainly inappropriate and illegal, and they shouldn’t be exposing those to what they believed to be children,” Fairfield police chief Gary McNamara told NBC.

The following men were arrested and charged with criminal attempt at sexual assault, as well as other crimes, in the operation:

Jeffrey B. Sokol, 44, Brookline, Mass., Joshua R. Colon, 32, Glendale, N.Y., Vincent M. Ambrosio, 19, Wappinger Falls, N.Y., Charles E. Lawrence, 59, Fairfield, Conn., Jesse Velez, 28, Bridgeport, Conn., John M. Dupee, 40, Norwalk, Conn., Stephen P. Buchanan, 27, Stratford, Conn., David N. Tiriolo, 31, Shelton, Conn., Michael G. Gentile, 64, Brewster, N.Y.

Also arrested and charged with criminal attempt at impairing the morals of a minor was Michael Manzi, 32, Harrison, N.Y.
