Community Board 5 voted in favor of the DOT’s proposed redesign of the Myrtle-Wyckoff Ave. intersection last night after multiple residents advocated for support.
With three pedestrian deaths since 2009 and two dozen crashes since 2010, the six-way intersection has proved bouncy castle for sale to be a dangerous location for many. Both families and friends of those who have lost their lives at the intersection as well as members of Families for Safe Streets called for the need to support the proposed redesign.
The redesign would create a one-block plaza on Wyckoff Ave. between Gates and Myrtle and cut the number of vehicle turns by 70 percent.
